WELCOME TO
CLJ Psychology
Clinical psychology that is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence.
About Me
I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and an accredited dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) therapist with over 10 years experience working with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
I offer 1:1 therapy for people aged 18+ and can support those who feel overwhelmed by their emotions, are stuck in patterns of self-criticism, or are affected by anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, or past experiences.
I offer a safe, non-judgemental space to help you make sense of what you’re going through and to develop practical ways of coping, at a pace that feels right for you.
Education and Training:
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, ClinPsyD (University of East Anglia)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) accredited therapist (Bangor University)
What I Offer
I offer 1:1 therapy for individuals aged 18 and above who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. This includes challenges with emotions, self-criticism, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the impact of past or traumatic
experiences.
I use evidence-based approaches, which means therapies I offer are supported by research and clinical experience. I draw on different therapeutic models to tailor therapy to you, rather than taking a one-size fits-all approach. As an accredited DBT therapist, I have a particular interest in combining cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness. This can be especially helpful for managing intense emotions, reducing self-harm and suicidal thoughts and improving mood and relationships.
Drawing on DBT and other evidence-based approaches, therapy can help you feel more grounded, more compassionate towards yourself, and more able to navigate relationships and everyday life.
Sessions are warm, collaborative, non-judgemental and validating. Together, we will think about what you would like from therapy. This might include making sense of your difficulties so they feel more understandable, focusing on practical skills to help you manage life’s challenges and stresses, or a combination of both. My aim is to support you to build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to you.
Please note, I do not offer crisis services or emergency support. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your GP, local crisis team, or emergency services.
Individual counseling tailored to your unique challenges and goals.

What to expect in your first session
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re not sure where to begin. Many people worry about being “too much” or not knowing what to say in therapy. There is no right or wrong way to start therapy. You do not need to have the “right words” or a clear idea of what is wrong to start therapy. We can work things out together and I will work with you at your own pace and within your own limits.
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other and talking about what has brought you to therapy. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. My role is to listen carefully, ask gentle questions, and help you feel safe and understood.
We may begin to think together about your goals for therapy, but there is no pressure to have everything figured out straight away. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Get in Touch
I aim to respond to enquiries within 24–48 hours. I am very happy to have an initial conversation about whether therapy feels like the right option for you at the moment, what you’re hoping for, or whether we might be a good fit. As such, I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation for prospective clients.
